Thank you .....

Just a shout out of thanks to all of those who have called to see how I'm doing, those who brought food (Sarah, Maggie, Mikki, Lisa and Kathy), Chocolate (Rena), and those that have offered to help with anything we need (even when they are sick themselves, Sandi!!) And a special thanks to my family for hanging in there. I know its not easy and moms just have a way of naturally feeling guilty for not doing their jobs so thanks to my kids for fetching everything I ask for and especially to Rich for picking up the slack on EVERYTHING....baths, getting kids ready for school, serving me food and mostly for not complaining at all!! just think...4 weeks and we get to do it all over again! yee hawwww

Fall Festival...

I did venture out on saturday....first to the fall festival Parade because Austin and Noah were in it (Sawyer choose not to ride on the football float because he would miss out on candy collecting!)

And after that we went over to Round Valley to watch Taylor play soccer...they did great, she did great! they won 3-0
and then we came home and I was wiped out the rest of the day....

Ouch...

Glad i got that pedicure in advance....

Foot Surgery..

I'm going under the Knife on Thursday......
Its time to fix this problem my feet have
This is what the problem is...
"Flat feet is a condition that affects the quality of life of millions of people of all ages. It is medically known as hyperpronation and it occurs when the space between the ankle and heel bones collapses, causing the foot - and the entire body - to shift out of balance. Aside from complications in the foot itself, flat feet patients will experience problems with knee pain, hip pain, back pain, neck pain, and even complications in the shoulders and beyond. This is because when our feet are out of balance, the rest of the body suffers great damage compensating."
My feet have been getting worse and worse...
I have had constant pain in my left foot for more then a year.
I went to the doctor to see what could be done and he said my feet
(both of them) are actually really advanced in the Hyperpronation.
On a scale of 1-4 in severity, mine are a high 3.
So its time to fix them before they get to a 4 because that would mean its too late to fix them and i would have to live with it.
Here is a website that describes what I'm having done
Basically it calls for putting a stint in between my ankle and my heel to put my foot back in the correct position.
When they go in they will asses how bad it really is...if they can do the "quick fix" described in the link, then I will only have to be off my foot for 2 weeks(completely, NO weight on it AT ALL)
but if they get in there and find its worse then what the Xrays show then I will have to be off my feet for 4 weeks. So I'm praying for the quick fix because i think my family would DIE if i were off my feet for 4 weeks! and then.....after the healing time is up I have to have the other foot done!
The Doc tells me that i will notice a dramatic difference once it is fixed and it will pretty much feel like they took my foot off and put a new one on...all the muscles, bones and tendons will have to readjust and get used to their new home and it will feel foreign to me for awhile.
Its gonna be a LONG....SLOW.....FALL

Little Guys football....

Its football time for the little Jones men!
this was two weeks ago when we played Show Low and Won!
they boys moved up a level this year and are having a blast!
Here are a few sideline shots..they got plenty of playing time but my camera does not zoom much further then this...

Student Trip to Cali....

We had a fun trip with the exchange students to California....
I think it must be getting old though because I only took TWO pictures....
kind of a "Been there, Done that" kinda thing
the kids were excellent which makes it very enjoyable!!
We took the kids to Universal Studios, Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood and Knotts berry farm
and then had a very LONG 11 hours in the car to get home.
Group shot at Universal
"Team Total Domination" Roller Coaster riders at Knotts
Or so I was told

Out of the mouths of babes....

I got this email today from Noah and Sawyer Scout leader (and incidentally, Rich DOES make his own Vanilla, weird hobby i know!)

I meant to tell you something funny that Noah said at our last den mtg....

When the boys started to shape their raw cookie dough they asked if they could eat some of it before it was cooked. I said, "Well, you're not really suppose to eat uncooked dough if it has raw eggs in it because you can get salmonella poisoning, this dough is probably ok because it's package, but do it at your own risk." Noah said, "Yeah, my dad makes his own home-made 'vanilla'." It took Loren and me a second to figure it out where vanilla came into the picture, then it came to us....salmonella/vanilla...I guess in a 9yr. old mind it sounds really close, right? :-) We couldn't stop laughing and giggling about it all the way home.
