Life has sure changed since the last post I made nearly two years ago....
Long story short....
We have moved to Utah to own and operate a Sears Hometown store. It has been a fun adventure but we sure do miss seeing our older kids on a regular basis. But they have all come to visit and we have enjoyed that more then you can imagine. Rich is really loving the slower paced life and being his own boss. It has relieved a lot of stress. With our move, I was unable to continue doing what I was doing with the Exchange students so this change was a big adjustment for me with a lot more time on my hands. But its been a good thing!

Here is an update on the family....
Brittnee and James gave us a sweet little Grand son in September

James deployed recently, so this will be a hard year for their little family.

Austin is doing very well on his mission and will be home at the end of October

Hayden and Charlotte are giving us a brand new Grand Daughter in August. We could not be more thrilled!

Quade had adjusted well to his new surroundings. He continues to love life to the fullest... his obsession these days is Garth Brooks.
He got to attend his concert a few months ago and was in heaven!!! Now he thinks hes a Cowboy....

Taylor and Colten are just enjoying spending time together and as much of it as possible in the great outdoors.

Noah and Sawyer are about to turn 16! This has been an exciting year for them. We have spent many hours teaching them to drive, going to high school football games and now going to high school baseball games. Its bitter sweet to have our last two in high school but we will enjoy every minute of this fun little, final ride!

so.....that's what you've missed!

I know, I know...its been forever since I have posted but my pictures are too big to load and I don't want to re size all of them :(  So I will give you the verbal update and hope to post pictures later....
so lets see...
here is the condensed version
October- Rich and I went to Ireland! beautiful, the boys finished up football unscathed
November- Rich and I went to Philadelphia for a Regional coordinators meeting, Then Taylor, Julian and I went to California with the exchange students for a long weekend. Next up was Rocky Point Mexico with the family for Thanksgiving. A great Quade story to tell from that trip (when i post the pictures)
December- We stayed home this month and enjoyed having Joe From Germany come to visit us for Christmas and a package arrived every day of December with  chocolate inside from Julian's family!
Hayden and Charlotte moved back to the mountain and we are very happy to have them back!
January- Rich and I went to Dallas for a Regional EF meeting. Taylor, Julian, Rich and I went to Hawaii for an exchange student trip.
February- Noah had made the 5th and 6th grade basketball team (Sawyer did not try out) and they did really well. They won almost all of their games and he was a high scorer for the team and the leading rebounder. Expecting to see good things from this kid in sports in the future. My Mom and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas and I was able to see Felix from Germany while we were in Miami. :)
March- Julian is doing track, Taylor is planning her future ( a mission ?) and Noah made the Jr high track team (but hes only in 6th grade) he will be running long distance like Hayden did. We all went to the valley and attended our Niece Adrienne's wedding which was super fun to have everyone together in one place! And just last week Rich was called to the high council so that should be an interesting new adventure.
and that.....is your update

So much missed

well it has been too long since i updated...now i have too much to update!!
lets start from the beginning....
Just as school was starting we had a really weird day....
Noah was at a friends house and got bit by their dog

while we were at the doctor getting a couple stitches i get a call from Taylor
who was at Rich's softball game and turned her ankle when she was walking up the stairs
so I left Noah in the good car of the doctor and I ran to get Taylor'

Diagnosis...Broken...in a boot for 5 weeks
then not just a few weeks later, Somehow (no idea how) Quade Broke his arm.
He woke up one morning and was complaining about it hurting so Rich took him in and it was Broken. He was in a cast for just 3 weeks though.
So now...hopefully, everyone is on the mend and the "they come in three's" is over at our house!

Next....
My sister Lynn and I ran away from home. She retired this year from the police dept. and needed a celebration vacation so we put our heads together and decided to go to St. Maartin, Virgin Islands
It was fun but most importantly..it was relaxing. No schedule just relax and relax some more
here are some photos from that trip....

a view from our room

Lynn kick back on the beach

a view of our hotel from our beach

the infinity pool

again from the infinity pool

love the sunsets

we went on a horseback ride

and we went on a sunset cruise around the island

it was beautiful!

the next day we went on an all day snorkel trip

this is the little private island we stopped at for snorkeling..way better then Hawaii!

the water was soooo amazingly blue

These were taken the last night before we flew home

Good bye St Maartin!

After we got home I got a call from Brittnee letting me know that she had had a miscarriage
so that weekend I left to go spend a few days helping her out while she recovered
it was a pretty traumatic experience and it will be a slow recovery for her

just before i left to go to Britt's, I got a call from Hayden and Charlotte with Great news!
they are engaged !!!!
We love Charlotte and are excited to add her to our family.
No date has been set yet.

Then last weekend we went to the fall festival parade to watch Noah march with the Young Marines
he Joined the Young Marines a few weeks ago and he really loves it

Also that weekend Julian went to Home Coming...

Julian is off at havasupi with the other exchange students hiking this weekend...
so...i think this brings us up to date
Next up...Ireland!!!
then a meeting in Philly
and then Mexico for Thanksgiving!!

I will be adding some of Noah and Sawyer's football pictures next....
stay tuned
