Having fun with just the little boys.....

Today we went to this movie....
Silly movie $8 each
Treats at the movie $4.50 each
mom gets a nap... PRICELESS
(although it was an $8 nap)
Tomorrow it's off to the doctor for football physicals...I will find this exceedingly fun and they will HATE IT
(turn your head and cough kinda hate it!)
its so WEIRD not having Quade here....
its so quiet that I find myself looking for him to make sure he is not in something he shouldn't be, or looking at the clock
(because we live by the clock...inside joke)
and quickly I remember that he is not home!
its soooo weird!
I'm looking forward to sleeping in for the first time ALL summer tomorrow!
Dad will be up with Quade and Austin at 6am!
lucky guy....
Hope all the campers are having fun...
(i do miss Taylor a bit though)

Baby Cakes....

Brittnee's good friend Kacie, who she was friends with since they were just little girls catchin' frogs in Kacie's backyard...threw Brittnee a baby shower a week before Brynlee was born
so now its Kacie's turn....
her little baby is due in less then a week so we knew we had to do something extra special for her baby shower.
Brittnee came up with the idea to make a diaper cake....
(Thanks to her Cousin Kristi, who made ber one)
so we studied how to make one on the Internet
and then we made a plan....
then off to the store to see what kinds of goodies we could find to put in it....
here is what we came up with
it was fun to ignite our imagination and creative juices
(if you click on the picture you can get a closer look)

The finished product after it was shrink wrapped

Congrats Derek and Kacie on your new little boy.....
we hope everything goes well and he makes his appearance soon!
and thanks again....for throwing Brittnee's shower!
your the best!!

Plans.....

I have had Numerous people, everywhere i go, ask me......
what is Hayden going to do now?
Well that has been a very hard question to answer because he has not been 100% committed to anything.
First it was ASU.....then it was MCC.... then it was a mission...
and now it appears that he will be going to
PVCC (Paradise Valley Community College)
They expressed an interest in him coming there to run Cross Country and Track for them
of course they are not throwing any money at him to have him do so...
but....
I think this is the final decision he has come too..
at least for now LOL
I guess we will know for sure when he actually moves there
SOOO I will keep you all posted.

Happy Birthday Brittnee...

Twenty Three years ago today......

We had our very first little baby!
A Girl
Brittnee Vatia Jones
5 lbs 4 oz
5:54 PM

Our day started off normal......it was about two weeks before our due date.
But in the middle of the night, the contractions started
I sat up timing them as i was not sure if this was the real thing, never having had a baby before
I did not want to wake Rich just in case they went away because he had to get up for work in the morning
But they didn't stop....so first thing in the morning we got up, i took a shower and got ready to head to the hospital
We labored through most of the day...when i was finally dilated to 4, i asked for the epidural
they gave me Demerol to take the edge off for the epidural but it did alot more then take the edge off.....

After finishing the epidural they turned me back over and checked me
and i was complete and feeling the urge to push....
the nurses were FREAKING out
telling me not to push because they needed to get the doctor here
so they called the doctor (who's office was across the street)
and they were in my face, making me breath....
heeee heeee hoooo hoooo
he came sauntering in about 10 minutes later...
they had already called for someone from the ER to come up because they did not think the doctor would make it

(shes still the same, liberty lovin', military lovin' girl today that she was years ago)

The doctor was so casual which was pretty funny because the nurses were in a tizzy
trying to keep me from having this baby
3 pushes and she was born.....

Such a tiny little thing she was....
her head fit perfectly inside the palm of her daddy's hand
After seeing her, the doctor estimated
that she was actually about a month early
What a joyous day that was
and what a joy she has been ever since....

And now my baby.....is a mommy too!

Where has the time gone.....

Son in Shinning Armour....

Today in Show Low they were having a little mini Renaissance festival...called Mid Evil Mayhem
Hayden and his friend Ethan started making Armour for Someone here in Show Low about 5 years ago. They got paid in Armour....meaning they got to make their own suits of armour. They would go over on Saturdays and spend time making Armour for Howard to sell and then they would work on their own suit of Armour. After work they would practice fighting...they also made several different types of weapons. Ethan and Hayden have since moved on and don't work for Howard anymore (it was time for real jobs that paid money lol) but every once in awhile Howard will call them up to come and do a demonstration....so that is what these pictures and video below are all about.
My Son in shiny armour!

This is Howard, who got the boys started and helped them build their suits

Fun 4th....

We had a super fun 4th of July....only got pictures from the parade though. kept forgetting my camera everywhere else we went.
our day started off with the parade....
Little miss Brynlee in her super cute red, white and blue outfit!
Brittnee, Brynlee with Grandpa (i just love saying that!)
with cowgirl (who sure has grown up alot in the last year, you can compare pictures HERE from last years 4th)

Natalie(who was up visiting for the week, Taylor and Quade
along with pepper who thoroughly enjoyed the parade!

The "Girls"

The Cellular One float...Noah and Sawyer got to ride their scooters along side and hand out candy! they were in heaven!

Everywhere we went this weekend was sooooo crowded! I think it was worse then ever before but everyone was polite and nice so that helped! The crowds at the parade were two and three people deep in some areas.
After the Parade we RAN over to Taylor for Rich's softball game.....Still pitching after all these years and still loving it! He loves tournaments the most...and i had forgotten how much I love them too until we got there and he started playing.....ahhhh the good ol' days!
After that we came home and finished up yard work while the kids washed my car (but mostly sprayed each other and played in the water and had a blast!)
Saturday night we were off to the fireworks, our family tradition, we always always sit in the same spot each year....and our friends know where to find us! some years we have a big crowd and some years we have a small one....last year it was huge (probably 30 people or so) and this year it was small.....mostly our family, the Hoye kids and some of the teenage friends!
Quade lives for the 4th of July....he just loves every minute of it and cant get enough...wish i had more pictures this year but i don't...I'm pretty sure Brittnee does so watch for her posts!
Until next year.....
